When your WiFi network isn’t operating as well as you’d like it to, it might be frustrating. This article will walk you through a few troubleshooting tips for your wireless network. Check your wired connections first, then make sure your Netgear router is connected to the internet via your internet service provider (ISP). Your cable modem may not be receiving internet from your ISP, preventing you from connecting to the internet.
A factory reset deletes all personalized settings including your user name, password, WiFi network name (SSID), and security settings. A factory reset is necessary when you cannot recover your password. You can connect to your network using a wired connection to recover your forgotten router WiFi password.
Resetting your Netgear Router
Perform the following steps in order-
Total Time: 5 minutes
Locate the Reset button on the back of your cable modem router.
Using a paper clip or similar object, press and hold the Reset button for about seven seconds.
Release the Reset button and wait for your cable modem router to reboot.
Factory default settings are restored.
When you log in to your router again, use the default login credentials.
