How to reset your Apple ID password

If you’re having trouble signing in with your Apple ID password, follow these steps to reset it and get back into your account. You can use your device (iPhone, iPad) to reset your password and get back to normal.

Perform the following steps in order-

To reset your Apple ID password-

Total Time: 2 minutes

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap [your name] > Password & Security > Change Password

    If you’re signed in to iCloud and have a passcode enabled, you’ll be prompted to enter the passcode for your device.

  3. Follow the onscreen steps to update your password

An Apple ID is a personal account that allows you to use Apple services such as the App Store, iTunes Store, iCloud, iMessage, Apple Online Store, FaceTime, and more. It contains your sign-in information as well as all of your contact, financial, and security information that you’ll utilize across Apple services.

If you ever forget your Apple ID password or if it’s been a while since you’ve used it, don’t worry – there are several ways to reset it.
