The midrange Fitbit Charge 2 is the successor to (and replacement of) the Charge HR activity-tracking wristband. Fitbit has added “connected GPS” to the Charge 2: the wristband will pull GPS data from your smartphone while you’re walking, running, or hiking outdoors.
This article explains how to perform a soft reset of a Fitbit Charge 2. This method does not erase stored data, so it is safe to do so and not lose your fitness data.
Doing a factory reset of your Fitbit Charge 2 deletes all previously stored data, as well as any data that hasn’t yet synced to your Fitbit account. Only perform a factory reset if a soft reset does not work.
Simple steps to reset your Charge 2
Perform the following steps in order–
Total Time: 1 minute
Place the Fitbit Charge 2 into its charging cradle, and then connect the USB cable to a power source.
Hold down the single button on the side of the Fitbit Charge 2 for between 10 and 12 seconds, until the Fitbit icon pops up on the screen.
When the icon goes away again, release the button, then unplug the USB cable from its port.
This should reset the Fitbit 2.
